Terms of Use

Last updated: June 1, 2025

Plain language: Use this platform honestly and in good faith. Do not submit false reports. Do not accuse people of crimes in public. Do not scrape or misuse data. Respect Tribal sovereignty. We take violations seriously. See our Community Standards for expected behavior.

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Cefa Tribal Affairs, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Cefa Tribal Affairs. Users under 18 require parental or guardian consent. Law enforcement and Tribal government roles require additional agency verification. Creating an account with false information is prohibited.

3. Prohibited Uses

You may not: submit false or misleading missing person reports; publicly accuse or name individuals as suspects; scrape or harvest platform data; attempt to de-anonymize tip submitters; impersonate law enforcement, Tribal officials, or platform staff; use the platform to harass, stalk, or threaten individuals; or attempt to access accounts or data you are not authorized to access. Violations result in immediate account suspension and may result in legal action.

4. Missing Person Reports

You may only submit a missing person report if you are a family member, legal guardian, designated advocate, or authorized official. Submitting a false report is a violation of these Terms and may violate state and federal law. You agree that the information you submit is truthful to the best of your knowledge. You retain the right to request modification or removal of a profile you submitted.

5. Tip Submissions

Tips submitted to law enforcement via Cefa Tribal Affairs are encrypted and forwarded to the assigned agency. Cefa Tribal Affairs does not review tip content except in cases of apparent abuse. Submitting deliberately false tips is a violation of these Terms and may violate obstruction of justice laws. You must not name, accuse, or defame individuals in tip submissions.

6. Your Data

You retain ownership of content you submit. By submitting content, you grant Cefa Tribal Affairs a limited license to display and use that content for the purposes described in the Privacy Policy. You may request deletion of your content at any time, subject to legal hold obligations.

7. Tribal Sovereignty

Cefa Tribal Affairs respects Tribal sovereignty. Tribal government accounts operate under a separate data processing agreement. Nothing in these Terms supersedes the sovereign rights of Tribal Nations over their data and community information.

8. Disclaimer

Cefa Tribal Affairs is a community platform — it does not replace law enforcement, legal services, or emergency services. For emergencies, call 911. Cefa Tribal Affairs makes no guarantee that tips submitted through the platform will result in law enforcement action. Platform content is provided for informational purposes only.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cefa Tribal Affairs is not liable for damages arising from: use of or reliance on platform content; actions taken by law enforcement based on tips; failure to locate a missing person; unauthorized access to your account due to factors outside our control.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated via email or platform notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
