Program Details

The Tribal Transportation Program (TTP) provides funding to Federally Recognized Tribes for transportation infrastructure on Indian lands. TTP Planning funds specifically support the development of Tribal Transportation Improvement Programs (TTIPs), environmental clearances, and engineering studies needed before construction can begin.

What This Provides

Planning grants from $50,000 up to $500,000 per fiscal year. Some construction project categories receive up to $5M.

Only Federally Recognized Tribal Governments are eligible. Tribal Transportation Departments must apply through the BIA Regional Office.

How to Apply

Contact your BIA Regional Transportation Office to request planning allocation. You must have an active Tribal Transportation Improvement Program (TTIP) and BIA Planning certification.
